Cleveland Clinic’s G81 ENT/Plastics & Internal Medicine Unit is an 8-bed ENT/Plastics specialty stepdown unit and a 24-bed internal medicine unit. Patients in this unit have a wide variety of acute and chronic medical conditions, such as head and neck cancer, surgical flaps and grafts, renal failure, diabetes, hypertension, pneumonia, sepsis and complex multi-system failure. Caregivers float to both sides of the unit, so you will have one foot in medicine and 1 foot in critical care. A caregiver in this position works day/night rotation, from 7:00am—7:30pm or 7:00pm—7:30am.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program
- Current Ohio license as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross

- One year of patient care experience
Responsibilities
- Collect, document and report patient data and observations.
- Implement care plans as directed by an RN and contribute to care plan revisions.
- Administer medications and/or treatments authorized by a provider and observe patients for adverse reactions.
- Perform routine laboratory tests.
- Educate patients and family members.
