About the position

Meritas Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Cardiology team. This position offers an opportunity to provide patient care under the guidance of healthcare providers while being part of a mission-driven organization dedicated to serving the community. Responsibilities

• Assist providers to maximize patient volume
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• Return patient calls in a timely manner
• Ensure effective patient communication and efficient patient flow
• Document patient care accurately and timely
• Perform EMR tasks correctly and timely
• Process patient referrals timely and follow up on specialist reports or test results
• Follow all regulatory and patient safety clinical standards
• Communicate effectively with all providers
• Provide great customer service in person and on the telephone
• Perform administrative duties such as greeting patients, registration, scheduling, and processing insurance forms.

Requirements

• Graduate of accredited school of practical nursing or accredited school of professional nursing
• Current license to practice in the state of Missouri
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a physician's office setting, preferred
• Basic Life Support certification through American Heart Association
• Basic office skills
• Patient-centered mindset
• Excellent time management and organization skills
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
