About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate LPC, LCSW, LMFT to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide mental health counseling and support to individuals, particularly those with developmental disabilities and special education needs. This role requires a strong understanding of patient care, medical records management, and clinical research methodologies. The LPC, LCSW, LMFT will work collaboratively within a hospital setting, utilizing motivational interviewing techniques to empower clients in their therapeutic journey.

Responsibilities

  • Provide mental health counseling to clients, focusing on their unique needs and circumstances.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Conduct clinical assessments to evaluate client needs and develop appropriate treatment plans.
  • Engage in clinical research to enhance service delivery and improve patient outcomes.
  • Utilize knowledge of medical terminology to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals.
  • Implement motivational interviewing techniques to encourage client participation in their treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Advocate for clients with developmental disabilities, ensuring they receive the necessary support and resources.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in social work.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
  • Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current state licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT).
  • Experience in mental health counseling, particularly within a hospital or clinical setting.
  • Familiarity with systems related to patient care and medical records management.
  • Knowledge of clinical research methodologies is preferred.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology is advantageous.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or within special education settings is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
