About the position
The Building Substitute Teacher at Neighborhood House Charter School (NHCS) plays a crucial role in supporting all grade levels at the lower school by ensuring classrooms are staffed and students remain engaged in their academic work during staff absences. This full-time position is essential for maintaining the educational environment and includes additional school operation responsibilities when not substituting in a classroom. The role is based at the Queen St. campus and operates Monday to Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Responsibilities
- Support all grade levels in the lower school by filling in for absent teachers.
- Engage students in their academic work during classroom instruction.
- Assist with school operation responsibilities when not substituting in a classroom.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Prior teaching or experience working with school-aged children.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
