About the position

This role is responsible for the resolution of potential or delinquent member accounts. Conduct an effective follow-up program involving loans and Visa accounts in which members are contacted by phone, letter or in person appointment to ascertain reasons for delinquencies. Develop and implement a mutually agreeable plan to bring member loans and/or accounts current or to minimize a loss for the company.

  • Contact members by phone, letter, or in-person to ascertain reasons for delinquencies.
  • Develop and implement plans to bring member loans/accounts current or minimize losses.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of previous consumer collection experience, preferred.
  • Working knowledge of credit union policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of bankruptcy laws, student loan guidelines, real estate collection laws, Visa account collection laws, property improvement collection guidelines, and NSF check collection knowledge.
  • Lending document knowledge.
  • PC experience including a general working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Internet, and E-mail equivalents.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to generate professional correspondence through mail.
  • Ability to define problems and apply appropriate remedies.
  • Ability to interpret verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to work independently while displaying initiative and good decision-making skills.
  • A high level of professionalism while working under pressure.
  • Compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and all its provisions.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and various background checks.
  • Regular and reliable attendance at the workplace.
