About the position
The Long Term Substitute Special Education Assistant position at Elmbrook Schools involves providing support to students with special needs in a public school setting. This role is temporary and can be either part-time or full-time, depending on the needs of the school. The position is expected to last until at least December 20, 2024, and requires in-person attendance during school hours, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities
- Assist special education teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
- Support students with daily activities and academic tasks.
- Monitor student progress and behavior in the classroom.
- Provide a safe and supportive learning environment for students with special needs.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to ensure effective communication and support for students.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with children, particularly those with special needs, is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
