About the position

The Logistics Management Specialist position at the Defense Logistics Agency is primarily responsible for providing strategic oversight in managing, sustaining, and supporting weapon system platforms assigned to the Air National Guard (ANG). This role involves collaboration with various logistics entities and ensuring logistical support for equipment lay-ins, while representing the ANG in various meetings and conferences.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Materiel Management Specialist responsible for oversight of weapon system platforms.
• Manage the Accountability Property System of Record (APSR) to ensure wartime taskings are supportable.
• Collaborate with Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and other supply sources as needed.
• Attend worldwide meetings and participate in AF level conferences as the ANG representative.
• Coordinate with various Air Force and ANG agencies to ensure logistical support is provided.

Requirements

• At least one year of specialized experience at the GS-11 level or equivalent in other pay systems.
• Knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices.
• Ability to negotiate solutions to resolve disputes.
• Experience with data systems and computer-based office management tools.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of APSR supply systems utilized by Air Force commands.
• In-depth understanding of Air Force and National Guard supply/readiness programs.
• Ability to communicate effectively with other agencies.
