About the position

The position involves performing assigned duties to ensure compliance with established inventory control and safety policies, practices, and procedures for the efficient receiving, storage, movement, and control of materials within the company's facilities. The role may include full charge of an assigned stockroom or stockroom area, maintaining stock and storage areas in an orderly fashion. Responsibilities also include loading or unloading materials, utilizing small hand tools, and operating material handling equipment such as skids, pallet handlers, and hand trucks. Training and certification to operate a forklift may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assigned duties ensuring compliance with inventory control and safety policies.
  • Maintain stock and storage areas in an orderly fashion.
  • Load or unload material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies from trucks or vehicles.
  • Utilize small hand tools and operate material handling equipment.
  • Perform physical and administrative inventory control duties.
  • Receive, sort, and count goods; check against documentation for proper nomenclature, identification, and quantity.
  • Record receiving information and keep records of damaged or defective items.
  • Identify proper location for goods received and ensure accurate put away.
  • Receive, pull, and fill internal/external customer orders.
  • Prepare kitting packages and perform kit audits.
  • Reject damaged goods or materials and prepare documentation for adjustments.
  • Physically transfer material, equipment, kits, and supplies for internal/external customers.
  • Maintain stock records, logs, and other documentation.
  • Interface with other functional areas to provide information on material status.
  • Investigate shortages/out of balance conditions and take corrective action.
  • Analyze reports on production schedules and stock inventory levels.
  • Participate in developing/updating policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • 4 - 7 years of relevant work experience.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including standing for extended periods, bending, squatting, and lifting.
  • Ability to distinguish between colors and work in noisy environments.
  • Experience using hand and power tools and operating heavy machinery including forklifts.
