Logistics Courier - Carilion New River Valley Medical Center

About the position

As a Logistics Courier at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center, you will perform various tasks related to receiving, stocking, issuing, distributing, and shipping supplies to hospitals and services of Carilion Clinic. Your role will involve adhering to documentation and computerization processes to ensure efficient operations. You will provide immediate distribution and warehousing services to all affiliates and precise logistical and delivery services to assigned areas of Carilion Clinic. Key responsibilities include inspecting cartons for damages, receiving inventory, completing warehouse requisitions, delivering goods, and shipping freight daily.

Responsibilities

• Inspects cartons carefully for damages and completes required documentation on damages.
• Receives inventory and special order items, records quantities received, and compares receipts to product specifications.
• Completes warehouse requisitions, ensures order accuracy, and packs for delivery.
• Delivers inventory or special ordered goods to the end user and maintains delivery schedule.
• Responsible for the timely delivery of various courier runs.
• Provides Par Level service to various departments on a daily basis.
• Completes all required documentation in the performance of responsibilities.
• Ships freight daily via FedEx, UPS, and common carrier.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Warehouse and material handling experience preferred.
• Valid Virginia driver's license required with a positive driving record.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Computer skills.
• Ability to perform in a continually changing environment.
• Ability to handle heavy equipment of standard warehouse operations.
• Must successfully complete orientation and competency validation for position.
