About The Position

Under supervision, perform a wide variety of activities related to the shipping of all outbound product. This role involves verifying and keeping records of incoming and outgoing shipments, preparing items for shipment, and ensuring all outbound freight complies with warehouse operations. The position requires reconciliation of waybills and bills of lading with bills of materials and actual shipment arrivals, preparation of shipping documents and labels, and auditing orders against picking documents to resolve discrepancies. Accuracy in all shipping documents through strict adherence to standard operating procedures is essential. The role also includes data entry and maintenance in the Epicor management system, preparation of bills of lading using a warehouse management system, and comparing shipment details against records. Maintaining the automated inventory management system to ensure database accuracy is a key responsibility. Additionally, the position involves answering and routing telephone calls, maintaining shipping stations, monitoring and requisitioning packaging supplies, coordinating with carriers, completing management reports, and assisting with special projects.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Three (3) years related experience or training in warehouse
  • Experience with RF Scanner a plus
  • Proficient in computer skills for data entry
  • Must be able to read, write and speak in English
  • Good interpersonal & communication skills
  • Highly organized, detail orientated and self-motivated individual (proactive attitude)
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment, learn quickly and follow established processes
  • Professional attitude required when dealing with vendors, truck drivers, delivery personnel, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Verifies and keeps records of incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.
  • Responsible for all outbound freight to comply with warehouse operations.
  • Reconciles waybill, bill of lading with bill of materials and actual shipment arrivals.
  • Prepares shipping documents along with the correct mailing labels and ensures that all orders from the warehouse are correctly fulfilled.
  • Ensures orders and shipping quantities match picking documents through careful audit of said documents and assists in resolving any discrepancies.
  • Ensures the accuracy of all shipping documents by strict adherence to standard operating procedures.
  • Gathers, enters into Epicor management system and maintains all data and records relative to shipping and receiving activities.
  • Prepares accurate bills of lading for outbound freight using a warehouse management system.
  • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
  • Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons.
  • Consolidates shipping orders.
  • Ensures that drivers depart with appropriate paperwork.
  • Maintains the automated inventory management system to ensure that actual physical inventory matches the database logical inventory.
  • Answers/routes all telephone calls in a polite manner, taking messages and routing to proper individual in a timely manner.
  • Maintains shipping stations are in working order and stock with materials.
  • Monitors the supply of packaging materials and requisitions additional supplies as required.
  • Coordinates with carriers to schedule pick-up of goods.
  • Completes necessary management reports as required.
  • Helps with or completes special projects at the discretion of the Lead or Supervisors.
