About The Position

DSV is a global transport and logistics company with a significant presence worldwide. The Logistics Coordinator role is responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily operational activities within assigned areas, including warehousing, receiving, and shipping. This position operates under the direction of the Operations Supervisor and is expected to meet company objectives in performance, safety, and quality, while complying with all corporate and site-specific policies. The role involves training new and existing associates, managing shipping and receiving processes, ensuring quality control, maintaining safety and compliance, and assisting with labor management and equipment operation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 1 year experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment.
  • Able to operate MHE (Material Handling Equipment).
  • Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during the warmer and colder months.
  • Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Proficiency with RF Scanners.
  • Familiarity with WMS (Warehouse Management System) functions.
  • English language skills (reading, writing, verbal).
  • Basic to intermediate mathematical skills to verify quantities, count inventory, etc.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to accomplish job tasks in a timely manner.
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to effectively adapt to change and thrive in a stimulating, fast-paced work environment.

Nice To Haves

  • 2-4 years’ experience working in a warehouse/logistics/distribution environment.
  • 2-4 years proven forklift experience.
  • Current or prior MHE certification.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor and train new and existing associates in specific distribution activities and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for shipping, receiving, picking, and quality control.
  • Assist in forklift operation and certification for associates.
  • Oversee and coordinate the unloading of inbound shipments, stacking of product, and picking/staging of outbound shipments.
  • Verify inbound/outbound paperwork with drivers and ensure accurate product counts.
  • Efficiently and accurately load orders onto trailers.
  • Process all shipping, receiving, and picking functions according to SOPs.
  • Research discrepancies in the shipping and receiving process.
  • Conduct yourself professionally in appearance and communications, potentially communicating with customers telephonically, electronically, or in person.
  • Prepare required activity reports accurately and efficiently for site management.
  • Ensure all product and/or orders are received or shipped correctly and accurately picked using appropriate documentation.
  • Verify products and/or orders meet quality standards, reporting any damages or discrepancies.
  • Stack, package, shrink wrap, and label product(s).
  • Report inconsistencies and/or problems to the Operations Supervisor or Operations Manager.
  • Participate in quality meetings.
  • Comply with relevant ISO standards.
  • Execute all safety protocols and accomplish job tasks in a manner that promotes safety.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the warehouse, ensuring a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
  • Assist in the security of the warehouse.
  • Comply with all SOPs, corporate and site-specific policies, safety rules, and OSHA/MSDS Standards.
  • Participate in safety meetings.
  • Direct the operations of the warehouse work team to achieve objectives.
  • Assist associates and temporary labor in completing productivity sheets and capturing production/payroll hours.
  • Assist the Supervisor in maintaining a productive workforce.
  • Participate in establishing work schedules and ensure their correct implementation.
  • Assign jobs effectively and ensure proper completion.
  • Ensure associates handle products according to prescribed quality procedures and guidelines.
  • Participate in department meetings.
  • Initiate action to prevent non-conformities relating to product, process, and quality systems; identify and record problems; recommend solutions.
  • Inspect and perform minor maintenance on forklifts or other equipment daily.
  • Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods.
  • Maintain active forklift certification.
  • Perform or assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned.
  • Perform clerical and administrative tasks such as answering telephones, scheduling, greeting visitors, filing, and record keeping.
  • Work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Work overtime as dictated by business needs.
