About the position

The Logistics Associate in Supply Chain Management at Mayo Clinic plays a crucial role in supporting the accurate receiving, distribution, inventory control, and transportation of products. This position involves significant interaction with suppliers and requires effective communication and problem-solving skills to manage a high volume of requests and inquiries from various departments. The associate will also assist with the distribution of medical products and services, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain.

Responsibilities

  • Support accurate receiving, distribution, inventory control, and transportation of products.
  • Manage daily activities related to the movement of materials throughout Mayo Clinic.
  • Interact with suppliers to expedite orders, handle returns, and resolve invoice/receipt issues.
  • Provide support for SCM - Logistics and manage high volumes of incoming requests via phone, mail, and fax.
  • Serve as a point of contact for other SCM areas to resolve inquiries and problems.
  • Research and resolve problem transactions related to invoices and deliveries.
  • Assist with the distribution of medical products, including controlled substances and hazardous materials.
  • Utilize reports to ensure data integrity in transactions and identify trends causing delays.
  • Collaborate with individuals to implement long-term solutions for processing delays.
  • Assist with projects as directed by SCM leadership.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED and two years of supply chain or business-related experience required.
  • Associate's Degree plus one year of experience will be considered equivalent.
  • Strong personal computer skills and communication skills.
  • Problem-solving and continuous improvement skills.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented atmosphere and adapt to changing environments.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
