About the position

As the Front Desk Supervisor at The Lodge, you will oversee front desk operations, ensuring smooth scheduling and effective communication with staff and guests. Your role includes managing check-ins, maintaining supplies, reviewing reports, and maximizing room occupancy while balancing financial records and creating a welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop fair and consistent schedules for front office receptionists.
  • Ensure front office receptionists are knowledgeable about company policies and promotions.
  • Monitor clerks and the flow of guests during check-in and check-out.
  • Maintain sufficient supplies of front desk materials.
  • Ensure computer systems are operational.
  • Interact with guests, answering questions and solving problems.
  • Review daily reports and clear discrepancies.
  • Input group room blocks and follow through with the Sales Department.
  • Prepare hotel and group sales information before group arrival.
  • Ensure housekeeping receives rooming lists for VIPs and groups.
  • Maximize daily room occupancy and revenue.
  • Ensure all reservations are guaranteed for arrival.
  • Ensure clerks are selling to achieve 100% occupancy.
  • Balance clerk's banks and main banks daily.
  • Read and update supervisor logbooks daily.
  • Demonstrate excellent decision-making skills and judgment.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of property management systems.

Requirements

  • 2-year college degree preferred.
  • 2 years of hotel front desk experience required.
  • Experience in a leadership role is necessary.
  • Must be able to type at least 40 wpm.
  • Must have computer experience.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills are required.
  • Must possess a valid NYS Driver's license.
