About the position
The Coordinator for Local Education Agencies (LEA) at the Foundation for California Community Colleges plays a vital role in enhancing the California Community Colleges system by supporting partnerships between educational institutions and industry employers. This position focuses on expanding work-based learning opportunities, particularly through pre-apprenticeship and registered apprenticeship programs, to help diverse students secure middle-skill jobs. The coordinator will engage with various stakeholders, organize outreach events, and maintain documentation to ensure the success of LEA initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with community college districts, K-12 districts, industry employers, government agencies, and funders to support LEA partnerships.
- Organize and participate in outreach events, information sessions, and presentations to promote work-based learning opportunities.
- Maintain proper documentation of program participants in accordance with FERPA confidentiality.
- Coordinate meetings and scheduling for various stakeholders involved in LEA initiatives.
Requirements
- Some working experience with calendaring and scheduling meetings and coordinating events.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed for events.
- Strong collaborative skills to work with internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and emerging opportunities in work-based learning and apprenticeship programs.
