About The Position

This is a part-time position responsible for performing collection and administrative duties to support the loan workout function. The role involves coordinating work within the department and with other departments, complying with operating policies and procedures, communicating with appropriate personnel, responding to inquiries, and maintaining records and reports.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Specialized collection education/training
  • Proficient reading, writing, and grammar skills
  • Proficient mathematics skills
  • Proficient interpersonal relations and communication skills
  • Proficient organizational skills
  • Thorough knowledge of collection policies and procedures, as well as regulations affecting the collection function
  • Proficient PC skills including Microsoft Office and ability to learn job-related software
  • Visual and auditory skills
  • A minimum of one (1) year of related experience required

Responsibilities

  • Performs collection and administrative duties to support the loan workout function.
  • Receives and reviews a daily computerized listing of all assigned delinquent loans.
  • Communicates with delinquent borrowers via telephone, letters, and email to obtain late payments, using effective persuasion skills.
  • Utilizes methods of resource recovery under the terms of the loan contract if initial recovery attempts are unsuccessful.
  • Refers customers to proper lending personnel for refinancing of delinquent loans.
  • Documents all collection actions taken, including conversations, financial arrangements, and letters mailed.
  • Maintains files and notifies customers of amounts due.
  • Maintains control over delinquencies to ensure a satisfactory percentage of past-due accounts.
  • Prepares mailings such as past due notices and collection letters.
  • Assists Special Assets Analyst with file organization and reporting.
  • Abides by current laws and organizational policies and procedures to promote a harassment-free and non-discriminatory workplace.
  • Cooperates with, participates in, and supports adherence to internal policies, procedures, and practices for risk management, safety, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the department and with other departments for smooth and efficient information flow.
  • Communicates with management and staff to integrate goals and activities.
  • Responds to inquiries related to their area or from other Bank personnel and customers within given time frames and established policy.
  • Maintains appropriate records and provides assigned reports.
  • Performs ancillary duties that are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job.
