About the position

The Social Worker position at Amergis Healthcare Staffing is focused on providing social work intervention and support within a school setting. The role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to develop Individualized Health Plans (IHP) and Individualized Education Programs (IEP) for students in need of social work services. The Social Worker will establish therapeutic rules, design individualized service plans, and facilitate effective transitions between therapy and classroom settings, all while ensuring the dignity and welfare of students.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop IHP/IEP for students requiring social work intervention.
  • Establish rules and procedures appropriate for a therapeutic setting.
  • Design and develop individualized service plans based on IEPs and diagnostic information.
  • Utilize resources to bridge the instructional program.
  • Plan for the prevention and intervention of inappropriate behaviors in collaboration with the educational team.
  • Engage students with positive feedback and effective reinforcement techniques.
  • Interact effectively with students, family members, educational team members, and external professionals.
  • Utilize community, state, and national resources to promote student safety and welfare.
  • Collaborate with educational support staff, student teachers, interns, and volunteers for student welfare.
  • Adhere to Amergis and District policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Holds a Professional Educator License with School Social Worker (SSW) endorsement as required by state.
  • May be required to have MSW or LCSW per state or facility requirements.
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice.
  • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable.
  • Current CPR certification if applicable.
  • TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
  • Current Health certificate as per contract or state regulation.
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site.
  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with supervisors, co-workers, and clients; proficiency in English is required.
  • Computer proficiency required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
