About the position

The Liquor Store General Manager at 21st Amendment is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the liquor store, ensuring profitability while providing excellent customer service. This role involves planning, budgeting, staff training, and compliance with laws and regulations related to alcohol sales. The manager will also be involved in inventory management, vendor relations, and maintaining a positive work environment for employees.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and coordinate all financial control of the liquor store.
• Develop an operating plan and budget that projects revenues, expenses, and profits.
• Monitor sales and expenditures, reviewing and authorizing vendor and payroll disbursements.
• Determine and maintain appropriate levels of on-hand inventory and supervise the inventory process.
• Establish procedures for accounting of sales and direct pricing strategies to ensure profit margins.
• Supervise the purchase of products while controlling inventory levels.
• Develop and implement operational procedures including customer service objectives and advertising strategies.
• Ensure compliance with laws and regulations regarding the sale of alcoholic beverages.
• Conduct staff training and development, including monthly meetings and evaluations.
• Maintain good public relations and resolve complaints from customers, suppliers, and employees.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5 to 10 years of management experience in retail or liquor store operations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other applicable software programs.
• Experience in supervising and training staff.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Merchandise Retailing, or a related field.
• Previous experience in the alcohol beverage industry.
• Experience as a Liquor Store Manager, preferably in a municipal setting.
