About the position

The position involves controlling product quality and ensuring that all staff within the area adhere to company guidelines and procedures, with a focus on customer specifications and food safety. This is achieved by monitoring critical and quality control points, auditing the area and staff, and documenting findings. The role requires actioning non-conformances and ensuring product safety through thorough quality assurance processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team to achieve required product quality.
• Ensure food safety is never compromised.
• Affect quality positively through analysis, diagnosis, and defining change.
• Interpret data and take action to improve negative trends.
• Ensure the required standards of product quality are achieved.
• Operate good manufacturing standards and ensure the team also operates GMP.
• Monitor production lines and associated equipment.
• Conduct audits and inspections, including HACCP checks.
• Complete necessary paperwork accurately and legibly.
• Report non-conformances to relevant managers.
• Conduct line start-up checks to ensure food safety.
• Cascade complaints data to team members.
• Complete microbiological plating when necessary.

Requirements

• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Associates Degree preferred.
• Experience in food manufacturing, particularly ice cream production.
• Detail-oriented with critical thinking skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Open to modified schedules if needed.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with automated mechanical processes.
• One year of related experience preferred.
