About the position

The Line Cook position at Archives Bar and Grill is a part-time to full-time role focused on preparing high-quality, scratch-made food in a fast-paced environment. The Line Cook will work under the Owner/Head Chef and will be responsible for cooking, plating, and maintaining kitchen standards, especially during the Head Chef's absence.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare ingredients and cook food items according to recipes and quality standards.
  • Plate food items for service.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
  • Adhere to food safety and handling procedures.
  • Take inventory and assist with ordering supplies when necessary.
  • Collaborate effectively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations.
  • Manage kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef.

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience in a professional kitchen environment.
  • Knowledge of proper food handling procedures and safety standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects.
  • Ability to multi-task between cooking, prepping, and cleaning throughout the shift.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in ordering and taking inventory.
