About the position

The Line Cook at JOA Grill is responsible for food preparation and recipe execution, ensuring that guests enjoy quality dining experiences. This role involves working in the kitchen to prepare various food items, maintain cleanliness, and adhere to food safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the prep station and the kitchen is set up, clean, and stocked.
  • Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing, cutting, and mixing ingredients.
  • Prepare food including cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers, and snacks.
  • Plate, garnish, and arrange prepared dishes based on Executive Chef's guidance.
  • Work with servers to ensure orders are completed on time according to requests.
  • Ensure the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene; meet food safety standards and sanitation regulations.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2-4 years of kitchen preparation and cooking in a casual dining restaurant.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management, guests, and hourly staff.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (minimum of 8 hours a day).
  • Be able to reach, bend and frequently lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Must have the stamina to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Be available to work flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to acquire a valid Texas Food Handlers Card within 30 days of hiring.
