About the position

The position involves performing Radiographic Imaging procedures, including Dexa scans. The individual will be responsible for patient preparation, conducting imaging procedures, and processing exams for radiologic interpretation. This is a non-exempt position that reports to the Radiology Director.

Responsibilities

  • Instructs and prepares patients for roentgenographic examinations.
  • Selects appropriate equipment to use for procedure.
  • Determines most suitable anatomical posture and positions and shields patients accordingly.
  • Works with physician to assess and manage patient pain so as not to interfere with procedure.
  • Programs stationary equipment and makes images for a variety of examinations.
  • Performs QC checks on equipment and maintains logs, as appropriate.
  • Obtains permanent record of internal examination by examination images of organs.
  • Transfers all images and retrieves images from PACS as requested.
  • Keeps procedure room clean and neat, makes minor equipment adjustments as needed.
  • Compiles and maintains quality assurance information for Texas Department of State Health Services.
  • Practices proper use of all equipment; never operates equipment inconsistent with manufacturer's instructions.
  • Performs highest quality imaging consistent with prescribed examination under discretion and supervision of Radiology Medical Director.

Requirements

  • Limited Medical Radiologic Technician (LMRT) license through the Texas Medical Board required.
  • Current BLS for healthcare providers' certification required.
  • Certificate from Accredited Radiology Technology Program required.
  • Must possess superior ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Additional languages preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service.
  • Must possess high degree of organization and be able to multi-task efficiently and effectively.
  • Advanced computer knowledge required, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
