About The Position

Carrier is seeking a self-directed and results-oriented Channel Manager for the Texas/South Central region. This position is responsible for driving Light Commercial (LCML) HVAC sales and margin growth through distributors in South/Central/Eastern Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana. The role involves leading established distribution customers, overseeing distribution channel management, and developing channel management plans to meet objectives. The ideal candidate will have experience in distribution channel management, sales, and customer relationship management, representing the company's interests and building business relationships to enhance sales performance of Carrier’s light commercial products. The job location is flexible within the territory, provided there is proximity to a metropolitan airport.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1+ years of experience working in the HVAC industry
  • 5+ years of combined work experience in sales, consulting, product management, engineering, or marketing

Responsibilities

  • Acts as the primary contact with highly visible/valuable distribution and channel management teams and/or strategic prospects, developing professional relationships to understand and meet customer needs within contracted scope.
  • Establishes action plans and sales targets for each territory and reviews progress with local sales management regularly.
  • Partners with the sales channel to identify and sell sizeable light commercial opportunities.
  • Identifies and visits key customers (contractors, consulting engineers, building owners, developers) to determine sales strategy and obtain their business.
  • Provides regular updates to Carrier's senior management on the performance of assigned territories, sales channels, and initiatives.
  • Collaborates across Carrier functions and business divisions to identify replacement opportunities and upcoming projects with existing customers.
  • Works with marketing to identify Carrier product strengths versus competition and implements plans and communication to capitalize on them.
  • Aggressively manages the performance of distribution channels for driving Light Commercial products.
  • Establishes an ongoing and integrated set of metrics to measure the success of the enterprise in growing sales volume and margin for Carrier commercial HVAC and the sales channel.
  • Engages sales channel principals in regularly planned assessments of the enterprise regarding performance, productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Assures sales channel is meeting its obligations and responsibilities as outlined by the commercial charter.
  • Prepares a contingency plan in each geographic region in the event sales channel performance is not satisfactory.
  • Generates positive enthusiasm and excitement in the marketplace for the Carrier light commercial HVAC portfolio.
  • Actively engages in industry associations and activities to promote the Carrier commercial brand and portfolio.
