About The Position

A case manager at SPG Life & annuity drives exceptional customer experience. They maintain primary ownership of insurance applications during the underwriting process and work in conjunction with our sales team, the insurance carriers, and others to provide our customers (the insurance agents and financial advisors) with a best-in-class experience while guiding them through the underwriting process. Case Managers are the primary point of contact while a case is in underwriting and provide ongoing status, problem resolution, and support to ultimately close a case. Ability to react to change in a productive and positive manner with willingness to support your team and accomplish team goals are key components of this position. Our life insurance product offering is a critical piece of our customer’s business model and you play a direct part in its success. You will be part of a team that will continually innovate in finding new ways to provide our customers with the best new business experience.

Requirements

  • Over 7 years’ experience as a brokerage Life Insurance Case Manager
  • Multiple carrier insurance product experience
  • Team player and works with minimal oversight
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Prioritizes work in a sales environment
  • Communicates accurately and professionally in both verbal and written communication with internal and external customers alike
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to stay informed in a rapidly changing environment
  • Excellent relationship-building and negotiating skills
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience

Responsibilities

  • Maintain primary ownership of insurance applications during the underwriting process.
  • Work in conjunction with the sales team, insurance carriers, and others to provide customers with a best-in-class experience.
  • Guide customers through the underwriting process.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact while a case is in underwriting.
  • Provide ongoing status updates, problem resolution, and support to ultimately close a case.
  • React to change in a productive and positive manner.
  • Support your team and accomplish team goals.
  • Continually innovate in finding new ways to provide customers with the best new business experience.
  • Negotiate underwriting offers on cases less than 10K.
  • Define and lead small initiatives to drive growth and efficiency within the organization.
  • Provide training and mentoring to more junior team members.
  • Resolve escalated case issues.
