About the position

The position is for a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology or Educational Diagnostician within the Special Services Department. The role involves selecting, administering, scoring, and interpreting test data, as well as providing ongoing consultation with administrators, teachers, and parents. The specialist will develop psychological evaluation reports and behavior management plans if they hold the LSSP designation. Additionally, the position requires conducting and participating in ARD committee meetings and collaborating with all personnel to provide appropriate programs for students with disabilities. The specialist will serve as a case manager and implement the special education assessment process for students at assigned campuses. Knowledge of curriculum in grades K through 12 and research-based interventions is essential, along with an understanding of local, state, and federal rules and regulations pertaining to Special Education. Familiarity with the computerized Special Education software Esped is considered a plus.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Master's degree from an approved institution.
  • Valid Texas certification as an Educational Diagnostician or valid Texas license as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology.
  • Enrolled in an accredited LSSP Intern program or possess a TSBEP Letter indicating Trainee status.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of curriculum in grades K through 12.
  • Knowledge of research-based interventions.
  • Familiarity with computerized Special Education software Esped.
