About the position

The Licensed Psychiatric Social Worker at Kaiser Permanente is a vital member of an interdisciplinary team responsible for providing comprehensive mental health services. This role involves direct assessment, diagnosis formulation, treatment planning, and psycho-education for members and their families. The position requires expertise in various treatment modalities and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care, with a focus on timely and appropriate clinical interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial interviews with members to interpret the psychological and social meaning of complaints.
  • Determine the urgency of members' needs and provide appropriate therapeutic action.
  • Select suitable treatment modalities based on members' presenting problems.
  • Provide treatment to adults, adolescents, and children.
  • Render immediate guidance and therapy for members in crisis or needing clinical services.
  • Maintain written records of therapy and prepare reports and letters as necessary.
  • Provide clinical consultation regarding family interactions and community resources.
  • Conduct telephone assessments, counseling, and referrals.
  • Participate in quality management and continuous quality improvement activities.

Requirements

  • Two years of post-graduate mental health therapy experience within the last five years.
  • Master's degree in a related Behavioral Health Care field.
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (California) OR Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (California) OR Licensed Clinical Social Worker (California).
  • Knowledge of and ability to utilize current DSM nomenclature.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred Spanish speaking.
