About the position

The position involves directing the day-to-day functions of nursing assistants in a long-term care facility, ensuring compliance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines. Monitoring residents' activities of daily living and encouraging participation in activities is essential. The position also involves charting nurses' notes accurately, maintaining supplies, and communicating with staff regarding resident care plans and activities.

Responsibilities

  • Direct day-to-day functions of nursing assistants in accordance with regulations and guidelines.
  • Administer medications and perform nursing procedures according to established policies.
  • Monitor activities of daily living of residents and encourage participation in activities.
  • Chart nurses' notes in an informative manner and ensure care plans are followed.
  • Complete administrative duties such as medical forms and reports.
  • Ensure adequate supplies are available and maintain cleanliness in work areas.
  • Communicate with staff regarding shifts, services, and changes in resident care plans.

Requirements

  • Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university or LPN/LVN training program.
  • Current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an LPN.
  • Prior experience in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or related medical facility.
  • Ability to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset individuals.
  • Ability to function independently and work effectively with residents and personnel.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or move 50 lbs regularly and 100 lbs occasionally.
