About the position

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position at Health Advocates Network involves providing practical nursing care to individuals with mental or physical injuries, illnesses, or developmental disabilities. The role includes implementing nursing care plans, administering medications, observing patient behavior, and participating in treatment programs. The LPN will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician and may have charge responsibility for a patient care area.

Responsibilities

• Implement nursing care plans for individuals with mental or physical injuries or illnesses.
• Prepare, administer, and record medications and treatments prescribed by a physician.
• Observe and report changes in the physical and emotional behavior of patients.
• Take and record vital signs and collect specimens as needed.
• Maintain progress notes and other administrative reports.
• Participate in the total treatment program, including habilitation and rehabilitation activities.
• Oversee unlicensed personnel and ensure maintenance of prescribed treatment regimens.

Requirements

• Current Pennsylvania License for Practical Nurse or eligibility to sit for the Practical Nurse Licensure Examination.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to enter health data into electronic medical records.
