About the position

The position involves working cooperatively with Northwest Health Services (NHS) providers, supervisors, and personnel to achieve the goals and objectives of NHS while adhering to governing body requirements and internal policies. The role requires treating all individuals with respect, including patients, fellow employees, management, customers, vendors, and visitors. Responsibilities include preparing patients for examination, administering medications and treatments, assisting with patient mobility, and ensuring exam rooms are ready for procedures. The position also involves triaging patient calls, documenting medical records, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, including HIPAA.

Responsibilities

  • Work cooperatively with NHS providers, supervisors, and personnel.
  • Treat others respectfully, including patients and staff.
  • Place patients in exam rooms and record vital signs and medical history.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Assist patients with ambulation and mobility.
  • Provide patient education materials and communicate effectively.
  • Prepare exam rooms and instruments for procedures.
  • Triage patient calls and make follow-up calls as needed.
  • Administer injections.
  • Prepare patient records for referrals and communicate with other healthcare providers.
  • Draw labs as required.
  • Prepare lab specimens for shipment.
  • Assist physicians with procedures and maintain equipment.
  • Answer patient and hospital phone calls.
  • Review charts for completeness and document patient interactions.
  • Determine needs for medical supplies and prepare ordering lists.
  • Maintain tracking logs for lab, x-ray, and referrals.
  • Attend clinical staff meetings and educational programs.
  • Document assessments, treatments, and medications in medical records.
  • Comply with regulatory agencies and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Comply with HIPAA provisions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school with L.P.N. licensure in Missouri.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Two years of acute care nursing or office nursing experience preferred.
  • Light typing skills and computer knowledge required.
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions effectively.
  • Ability to visually assess patient conditions and communicate professionally.
  • Valid driver's license and proof of insurance for personal vehicle.
