About the position
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Float Pool Surgery at Straub Medical Center is responsible for providing compassionate and high-quality care to patients of all ages. This role involves assisting physicians in various surgical settings, ensuring adherence to standards of practice and training for LPNs. The position requires flexibility and a broad skill set to float between different healthcare units, delivering comprehensive patient care in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist physicians in providing care to patients in surgical settings.
- Deliver compassionate and high-quality care to patients and their families.
- Float to various areas in Surgery as needed to cover for regular staff members.
- Provide clinical and nursing support in accordance with standards of practice for LPNs.
Requirements
- Current Hawai'i Licensed Practical Nurse license.
- Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card.
Nice-to-haves
- One (1) year recent Licensed Practical Nurse experience in area of specialty or successful completion of area specific training program.
- Knowledge of Current Procedural Terminology (CPT)/International Classification of Diseases 9th edition (ICD-9) coding.
- Experience with online medical software systems.
