About the position
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Acute General Medicine is responsible for providing direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role focuses on caring for patients with substance abuse, mental illness, and various medical diagnoses, allowing RNs to enhance their clinical skills in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Solicit and respond to patient feedback to improve service and processes that will enhance the patient experience.
- Administer medication and give/receive relevant reports, both written and verbal.
- Ensure concise, pertinent and complete patient care documentation using computerized medical record process.
Requirements
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification from New York State Education Department (NYSED).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association (AHA).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional documentation skills and professional behavior.
