About the position

The University of Florida's Department of Clinical and Health Psychology is seeking up to three Licensed Mental Health Counselors to provide clinical services and case management in an outpatient clinic. The role involves working with a diverse clientele, including children, adolescents, adults, and families, addressing a range of mental health concerns. Specializations may include sleep disorders, chronic pain, pediatrics, adolescents, or neuropsychology.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual therapy for various mental health concerns including depression, anxiety, and PTSD.
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions addressing mental health and interpersonal issues.
  • Conduct client intake evaluations and review relevant records.
  • Perform comprehensive assessments to determine appropriate therapy options.
  • Document session outcomes and required information as mandated by policy.
  • Engage in treatment planning and consult with external agencies as needed.

Requirements

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in social work, psychology, mental health counseling, or related field.
  • All State of Florida requirements met for a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).
  • Two years post-degree supervised experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience providing treatment to individuals, families, and/or groups.
  • Experience with a variety of mental health disorders such as depression and anxiety.
  • Interest in working with individuals with chronic pain and sleep concerns.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and writing for a medical audience.
