About the position

As a Licensed Bridge Engineer for the Roadway and Bridge team in our Oklahoma City, OK office, you will contribute to generating ideas and creating designs that provide purposeful, high-quality solutions to successfully solve engineering and design needs. You will be able to collaborate with roadway, traffic, geotechnical, and stormwater engineers on projects that make a positive impact in our community while simultaneously offering you the ability to grow and pick up a wide array of skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serving as a lead designer on small to medium sized bridge projects.
  • Perform structural analysis, design, and facilitate production of plan deliverables on all aspects of transportation projects.
  • Prepare engineering design criteria, conduct site investigations, and complete engineering studies.
  • Calculate quantities, estimate costs, and produce technical specifications.
  • Manage task schedules and budget.
  • Mentor younger design staff.
  • Occasional travel to job sites for site investigations, inspections, and project meetings.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to contribute and work well on a team.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience.
  • Must be a registered professional engineer.
  • Proficiency with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design.
  • Experience with bridge analysis and design programs (LARSA, LEAP Bridge Enterprise, Lpile, SPColumn, MDX).
  • Experience designing plate girder and prestressed concrete bridges using AASHTO LRFD.
  • Ability to make independent decisions on engineering problems and select appropriate structural solutions that are cost effective and constructible.
  • Working with multi-discipline team of engineers and technicians.
  • Prior experience with ODOT preferred.
  • Occasional site visits/inspection work.
  • Mentoring technical staff.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
