About the position

We are excited to be introducing the Young Minds Center in our brand new, state-of-the-art location! We are building something special to make a difference for all the youth in our community. This position will be relocating to our new building later this year - come join us! The position provides crisis intervention services, assessments, evaluation and stabilization, and case management to youth and families within the community setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide crisis intervention/case management and clinical services
  • Actively listen to presenting issues, using motivational interviewing skills and crisis interventions to ensure safety and determine appropriate course of action
  • Exercise judgment and decision-making that is clinically safe, logical and deliberate
  • Reach a resolution of crises that is clinically appropriate and least restrictive
  • Recognize, respect and effectively deal with values and cultural beliefs of clients, their families and community resources and referrals
  • Work with law enforcement, emergency departments and other emergency personnel in crisis situations
  • Provide follow up case management as assigned
  • Maintain appropriate treatment boundaries with clients and family members
  • Maintain required productivity
  • Complete clinical documentation and other forms of communication in a timely manner
  • Ensure all documentation is completed the same day of service and accurately reflects the reason for contact, interventions used and outcomes
  • Complete legal paperwork for inpatient admissions thoroughly to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards including patient rights
  • Complete paperwork required for billing purposes
  • Report any critical or unusual situations and complete incident reports as required
  • Interact and communicate with law enforcement, medical staff and other community providers effectively
  • Communicate effectively in-person, through email; respond in a timely manner to voicemails
  • Use effective means to educate others about mental illness and addiction
  • Maintain current knowledge of community resources and provide information to appropriate parties
  • Serve as a resource for individuals and community providers for community resources and how to access them
  • Understand and comply with Illinois' Mental Health & Developmental Disabilities Code
  • Serve as a mandated reporter and ensure reports are filed with appropriate parties
  • Participate in clinical supervision as outlined by immediate supervisor, and keep supervisor informed of clinical issues, concerns and outcomes

Requirements

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
  • Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
  • Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
  • Master's Degree
