About the position

The Licensed Behavioral Health Clinician/Law Enforcement Co-Responder role is designed to provide mental health support in collaboration with law enforcement agencies. This position focuses on responding to crisis situations, offering immediate assessment and intervention, and ensuring that individuals in need receive appropriate care and resources. The clinician will work closely with police officers to address mental health emergencies and promote community safety.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to mental health crisis situations in collaboration with law enforcement officers.
  • Conduct assessments and provide immediate intervention for individuals in crisis.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for clients in need of mental health support.
  • Provide education and training to law enforcement personnel on mental health issues.
  • Coordinate with community resources and services to ensure ongoing support for clients.
  • Document all interactions and maintain accurate records of services provided.

Requirements

  • Must be a licensed behavioral health clinician (LCSW, LPC, or equivalent).
  • Experience in crisis intervention and mental health assessment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with law enforcement and community organizations.
  • Knowledge of mental health resources and services available in the community.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with law enforcement agencies.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care practices.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
