About the position
View Point Health is a community behavioral health center utilizing a team of psychiatrists, nurses, licensed counselors and social workers, and other professionals to provide services to individuals who need treatment and support to cope with mental illness, substance abuse, and intellectual and developmental disabilities. View Point Health serves uninsured, underinsured, low-income Medicaid, Medicare, war veterans and some private insurance across multiple locations with a full continuum of behavioral health services and support. The services provided by View Point Health contribute to the reduction in homelessness, reduction in crime and subsequent incarcerations, higher graduation rates, lower dropout rates, decreased ER visits and decreased inpatient admissions. View Point Health Adult Residential Substance Detoxification is a short-term, 24/7 acute care, detox unit located in Covington, GA. Care is primarily focused on supervision, observation, and support for individuals during withdrawal management. Residential Withdrawal Management is characterized by its emphasis on medical monitoring and/or on peer/social support. We provide person-centered care and assist with implementing our unit programming based on evidenced-based practices for substance use detox, brief treatment, and early recovery support. The position requires flexibility in job tasks and scheduling to accommodate needs of the facility to include some weekend and evening coverage. This facility requires alternating holiday coverage between all staff.
Responsibilities
- Learn to perform psychosocial assessments, treatment planning/monitoring and discharge planning under supervision.
- Provide counseling/therapy to clients requiring complex intervention.
- Perform commitment determinations and/or execute orders of involuntary commitments.
Requirements
- Master's degree in a related area from an accredited college or university.
- Eligibility to be licensed.
