About the position
The job of Library Media Specialist was established for the purpose/s of promoting reading while performing functions related to the collection, processing, circulation, maintenance, and inventory of library materials and/or textbooks, documenting losses and monitoring procedures; implementing age appropriate programs for students utilizing library resources; selecting appropriate items in support of classroom instruction; and instructing students on the proper use of the library resource.
Responsibilities
- Promote reading among students.
- Perform functions related to the collection, processing, circulation, maintenance, and inventory of library materials and/or textbooks.
- Document losses and monitor procedures.
- Implement age appropriate programs for students utilizing library resources.
- Select appropriate items in support of classroom instruction.
- Instruct students on the proper use of the library resource.
