Library Assistant

About the position

The Library Assistant at Touro University plays a crucial role in supporting the delivery of library services and programs, ensuring the daily maintenance operations run smoothly. This position involves providing reference and bibliographic services, supervising library operations, and fostering a cooperative library atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the delivery of library services, programs, and daily maintenance operations.
• Provide reference and bibliographic services including instruction and assistance in the use of library resources and services.
• Supervise the daily operations of the library including facility and collection maintenance, materials receipt, reconciliation, and record keeping.
• Work in cooperation with other librarians to receive and process all Inter-library loan requests.
• Ensure a cooperative and civil library atmosphere.
• Perform other duties as assigned to contribute to the overall efficiency of the library.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Arts required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point, & Outlook.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of Sierra is a plus but training is provided.
