About the position

The University of Michigan's College of Engineering is seeking a part-time LEO Intermittent Lecturer to co-teach the course ENTR 490.316 - Perot Jain TechLab HealthTech during the Winter 2025 term. This role focuses on providing students with hands-on entrepreneurial experience in the healthcare technology sector, specifically through collaboration with startups. The position aims to foster an entrepreneurial mindset and develop essential skills in project and product management, while also preparing students for careers in the growing HealthTech field.

Responsibilities

• Co-teach ENTR 490.316: Perot Jain TechLab HealthTech during Winter 2025.
• Develop course materials and deliver in-person lectures.
• Hold weekly office hours for student support.
• Prepare and grade assessments for the course.
• Manage and evaluate class projects and student teams.
• Refine assignments and oversee project milestones.
• Participate in monthly Faculty Community Meetings with the Center for Entrepreneurship.

Requirements

• Master's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in organizational management, program management, and the entrepreneurial process in the healthcare industry.
• Experience related to the advancement of healthcare technologies.
• Successful practice of entrepreneurship and new venture creation.
• Ability to establish credibility and rapport with students.
• Demonstrated ability to teach a diverse range of students from first-year to PhD level.
• Strong communication skills, including oral and visual presentations.
• Experience working with startups or commercialization efforts in the HealthTech industry.
• Leadership positions or founding experience with startups in the Michigan ecosystem.

Nice-to-haves

• Advanced degree (Ph.D.) in a relevant field.
• Familiarity with Learning Management Systems, such as Canvas.
