About the position

Get ready for an immersive 12-week experience with our Summer Internship Program at Inari Medical! This program will offer students a unique opportunity to dive headfirst into the world of medical devices, where cutting-edge technology meets medical innovation. The program will take place onsite at our headquarters located in Irvine, California consisting of two cohort options: 5/19/25 - 8/15/25 and 6/16/25 - 9/12/25. This is not just an internship; it's a chance to learn from and work alongside seasoned industry professionals to make an impact on patients' lives. As a Legal Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and insight into the legal operations of a dynamic medical device company. You will work closely with our legal team, contributing to various legal matters, and supporting our mission of delivering life-saving solutions to patients worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research on a wide range of topics, including corporate, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, contract law, and healthcare regulations. Summarize findings and provide recommendations to the legal team.
  • Assist in the review and drafting of contracts, including vendor agreements, nondisclosure agreements, and licensing agreements. Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Assist with the management of intellectual property assets, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights. Work closely with the legal team to protect and enforce Inari Medical's intellectual property rights.
  • Support the legal team in ensuring compliance with healthcare and medical device regulations, including the FDA and other relevant authorities. Assist with the preparation of regulatory submissions and documentation.
  • Organize and maintain legal documents and records, including contracts, corporate filings, and intellectual property records. Help develop efficient document management processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, and finance, to address legal issues and provide legal guidance.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a juris doctor degree from an accredited law school, preferably in the process of completing the first year of law school.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
  • Familiarity with legal research tools and databases is a plus.
