About the position

The NYC Financial Information Services Agency-Office of Payroll Administration (FISA-OPA) is seeking a Legal/Administrative Coordinator to perform complex administrative, analytical, and secretarial work in a confidential environment. This role involves typing and editing confidential documents, preparing legal agreements, and maintaining correspondence and files for the General Counsel and legal staff.

Responsibilities

  • Type and edit highly confidential documents using word processing software.
  • Prepare and format lengthy agreements and other legal and non-legal documents.
  • Maintain correspondence, files, and confidential materials.
  • Route and answer mail and phone calls.
  • Order and keep supplies for the unit.
  • Perform secretarial and administrative duties for legal staff and others reporting to the General Counsel.

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory, full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience, including 18 months in an administrative, managerial, executive, or supervisory capacity.
  • An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college and five years of satisfactory, full-time progressively responsible experience, including 18 months in an administrative, managerial, executive, or supervisory capacity.
  • A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and six years of satisfactory, full-time progressively responsible experience, including 18 months in an administrative, managerial, executive, or supervisory capacity.
  • Proficiency in word processing software, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel.
