The Division of Business, Entrepreneurship and Technology at Columbia College invites applications for Lecturer in Accounting position beginning August 2022 with strong teaching focus in Accounting disciplines. Other areas of interest include management and marketing related courses. The candidate is expected to teach financial accounting, managerial accounting, cost accounting, advanced accounting, auditing, taxation, accounting information systems and Business courses in our undergraduate programs as well as graduate programs including MBA. Previous experience in program management is also a plus. Columbia College is a liberal arts college that is committed to creating a learning community that values diversity and inclusion. The Division of Business, Entrepreneurship and Technology at Columbia College offers a unique Business, Accounting and Computer Information Sciences (CIS) curriculum that gives students a strong academic foundation and the chance to gain industry experience in a program that both fuels their interests and leads to a profession. The Division of BET offers B.S. in Accounting, CIS, and a B.A. in Business Administration with concentrations in Sports Management, Marketing, Hospitality, Tourism, and Event Management, as well as General Business. Additionally, the Division of BET offers a one-year MBA program with a concentration in Health Administration and Strategic Management and Leadership. The Division has grown significantly in recent years, the expansion of strategic relationships with local businesses and professional groups. Additionally, the Division of BET is home to the Women's Business Center of South Carolina. This position is a nine month, full time, non-tenure track appointment. The standard teaching load is twelve credit hours for each of the fall and spring semester. The candidate must demonstrate ability to design and deliver courses in a variety of formats, including online and hybrid modalities, and is expected to teach core courses and specialized courses in Accounting areas. The candidate is expected to have flexibility in class scheduling so as to meet the needs of the college. Faculty members are expected to participate in faculty governance and academic program activities, and to engage in service as well as professional development.
