About the position

The Department of Computer Science at Old Dominion University is seeking a full-time Lecturer for a non-tenure track position. The role involves teaching a variety of undergraduate courses, ranging from introductory programming in Java and Python to advanced computer science topics. Responsibilities

  • Teach a broad range of undergraduate courses in Computer Science, including beginning programming courses in Java and Python.
  • Develop and manage course materials for in-person and online learning environments.
  • Engage in faculty service activities as part of the academic community.
  • Support students in their learning and development in computer science courses.

Requirements

  • M.S. or equivalent in Computer Science is required.
  • Ability to teach a wide range of undergraduate courses in Computer Science.
  • Experience in course development for both in-person and distance learning environments.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science preferred.
  • Experience teaching graduate courses in Computer Science.
  • Ability to teach Data Science, Cybersecurity, and/or Web Applications.
  • Experience managing large course sections and courses with laboratory components.
