About the position

The Department of Marketing, Agribusiness, and Supply Chain Management at the University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK) is seeking applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant or Associate Professor or Lecturer of Marketing position to begin in Fall 2025. This position is pivotal in championing the College's emerging sales program, and candidates are expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, scholarship, and student retention and success. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a full-time course load, primarily focusing on Professional Selling and Sales Management. In addition to teaching, the role involves creating new courses to support the sales program, with potential topics including advanced selling, sales technology, sales/marketing analytics, and customer relationship management. The candidate will also be expected to conduct scholarly research in sales-related areas that leads to publication in quality peer-reviewed journals. This position will require coordination of co-curricular practices in the sales domain, such as competitions and industry engagement, which are essential for enhancing the practical learning experience of students. Advising students and working with student organizations will also be a key responsibility, as well as directing the growing Professional Sales Certification Program. The candidate will be encouraged to pursue professional development opportunities to enhance their teaching and research capabilities, contributing to the overall mission of the department and the university.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • A terminal degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in Marketing or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning.
  • Evidence of scholarly research and publication in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Experience in advising students and engaging with student organizations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in developing and teaching online courses.
  • Industry experience in sales or marketing.
  • Familiarity with sales technology and analytics tools.
