About the position

Valvoline has a rewarding opportunity as a LOA Benefits Specialist. Responsible for managing Valvoline’s leave of absence (LOA) programs and disability plans in the US and Canada, including ADA administration. Additionally, this position is responsible for supporting the Benefits team day-to-day and with larger initiatives involving both retiree and active plans.

Responsibilities

  • Administers, coordinates, and monitors LOA with internal partners and third-party administrator for STD, LTD, FMLA, Company-Paid Family Leave, state leaves, etc. in the U.S. and Canada, ensuring consistency and compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Manage return to work process with employees and management to confirm suitability, institute reasonable accommodations as needed, and reinstate systems access.
  • Proactively manage ADA interactive process for accommodations.
  • Collaborate with internal resources (Legal, HR Business Partners, etc.) and applicable third parties as necessary.
  • Act as subject matter expert and resource to employees, leaders, and providers regarding LOA.
  • Communicate with employees up to Upper Management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma.
  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
  • Certifications: SHRM, CEBS- preferred but not required.
  • Experience with Workday - preferred but not required.
  • High volume case management experience.
  • Identify data trends and areas of improvement for the business.
  • Understanding of Federal and State regulations and State leave laws.
  • Maintaining accurate records of leave requests, benefits enrollments and other leave related information.
  • Knowledge of HRIS system and other relevant software.
