About the position

The Leasing Consultant is responsible for presenting the apartment community to prospective residents, leasing apartments, providing exceptional customer service, and participating in the marketing efforts of the community. This role requires collaboration with the property management team to meet leasing goals and demands professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality in all interactions.

Responsibilities

• Open and inspect models and market-ready vacants daily to ensure they meet established standards.
• Ensure the leasing office is open and ready for business on time each day.
• Maintain office presentation in a professional manner.
• Assist with closing and securing the office and models daily.
• Answer telephone and email leads by responding to leasing inquiries.
• Respond to all telephone, PopCard, and internet leads daily.
• Write and post Craigslist ads daily.
• Greet and present the property to prospective residents through personalized tours.
• Gather information regarding the needs and qualifications of prospective residents.
• Conduct follow-up with prospects.
• Lease apartments by actively marketing and promoting the apartment community.
• Accurately and timely input data into Lead Tracking Solutions/Yardi for all traffic.
• Compile welcome paperwork with lease and associated addendums in compliance with policies and procedures.
• Establish move-in appointments for reviewing lease documents with new residents.
• Complete thorough walk-throughs of apartments and community amenities with new residents upon move-in.
• Shop the competition to compare sales techniques, pricing strategies, and merchandising.
• Ensure close-out procedures in Yardi are completed at the end of each leasing week.
• Maintain an accurate and current priority wait list and ensure constant communication with prospects.
• Provide customer service per company standards and handle resident complaints appropriately.

Requirements

• Minimum one year of sales and/or customer service experience in property management, hospitality, retail, or real estate.
• Apartment leasing experience preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel/Outlook).
• Yardi experience preferred.
• Lead Tracking Solutions experience is a plus.
• High School diploma or equivalent required; college degree or some college preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Time management and organization skills.
