About the position

The Leasing Consultant plays a crucial role in attracting and screening potential tenants, providing information about available properties, negotiating lease terms, and ensuring a smooth leasing process. This position is responsible for maintaining high occupancy rates and fostering positive relationships with current residents while working closely with the property manager and team members to achieve leasing goals and uphold property standards.

Responsibilities

• Attract and screen potential tenants for available properties.
• Provide information about properties and negotiate lease terms.
• Ensure a smooth leasing process and maintain high occupancy rates.
• Market and promote available properties through various channels.
• Conduct property tours and screen applicants effectively.
• Respond to inquiries via in-person, phone, and email.
• Prepare lease paperwork and assist future residents with the move-in process.
• Stay informed about local rental market trends and competitor activities.
• Participate in property marketing events and outreach programs.
• Plan and conduct resident functions as directed by the Property Manager.
• Uphold ethical standards and fair housing regulations in all leasing activities.

Requirements

• Valid Driver's License is required.
• 1+ year of sales or leasing experience is strongly preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Strong negotiating and sales abilities are essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and other Office products is required.
• Familiarity with property management software such as Yardi, Onesite, RealPage, etc. is preferred.
