About the position
The Lean Specialist at Southwire Company LLC will support and manage the Lean Enterprise system and Continuous Improvement processes at the Bremen Plant. This role involves leading continuous improvement projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and delivering coaching and training on Lean principles. The specialist will also be responsible for developing tools, training materials, and KPI metrics to enhance operational efficiency and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Support and manage the Lean Enterprise system and Continuous Improvement processes.
- Lead continuous improvement projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Develop and maintain dashboards/KPIs for reporting.
- Conduct training and coaching on Lean principles and tools.
- Lead Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen events to identify and eliminate process wastes.
- Assist in analyzing and optimizing plant and equipment layouts.
- Ensure processes are measured, monitored, and controlled through Standard Work.
- Act as a change agent to deliver the change management framework for improvement projects.
- Collaborate with Operations leadership to develop annual plans for continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Safety, or a similar field.
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification is a plus.
- Strong leadership skills and excellent communication abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis.
- Experience in utilizing SAP and analytics tools for efficient operations.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Lean Management tools such as 5S, Daily Huddle Process, and Value Stream Mapping (VSM).
- Demonstrated experience in transforming business processes and promoting continuous improvement culture.
