The position is responsible for overseeing the designated work site and workflow of Transporters, providing services to patients, visitors, and health care staff twenty-four hours a day and seven days a week. The individual will serve as a shift lead and resource to ensure that patient and equipment transports are completed in a safe and timely manner. This role involves prioritizing work, communicating effectively with staff and management, and evaluating work requirements to ensure efficient use and distribution of the scheduled workload. The individual will direct daily transport workflows, resolve issues, maintain high productivity, and follow appropriate transport procedures. Additionally, the role includes verifying the destination and identity of patients and equipment, maintaining inventory of supplies, resolving service delays, notifying department leadership of issues, and coordinating activities within the assigned worksite. The individual will also provide quality onboarding for newly hired team members and act as a role model for transporters, demonstrating professionalism and commitment to quality. Specialized transport duties may include morgue trips, body releases, managing viewings, and maintaining oxygen tank supplies for transport use. The position may also involve ensuring that equipment is clean and in good repair, along with other assigned duties.
