About the position

This position is located in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS), Planning and Operations, Communications Unit. The role involves integrating the organization's strategic plan into the team's goals, collaborating with various stakeholders, and ensuring clarity in technical writing and editing for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Integrates the organization's strategic plan, mission, vision, and values into the team's goals and work products.
  • Serves as a coach and facilitator to resolve challenges and foster collaboration within the team.
  • Approves emergency leave, medical leave, and other types of leave as delegated.
  • Collaborates with supervisor, other editors, authors, and reviewers to refine and rewrite content.
  • Provides recommendations for alternative graphic and textual presentations to enhance understanding.
  • Establishes and maintains an efficient workflow for document preparation, review, and approval.
  • Conducts comprehensive reviews of all written materials for technical accuracy and clarity.
  • Provides expert guidance to managers, analysts, and staff on technical and statistical presentations.
  • Coordinates the dissemination of organization publications through various channels.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Subject to background/suitability investigation/determination.
  • Federal payments are required to be made by Direct Deposit.
  • Requires registration for the Selective Service.
  • Pre-employment drug testing required.
  • 1-year probationary period may be required.
  • Security Requirements: Non-Sensitive/Moderate Risk.
