About The Position

L3Harris is seeking a highly skilled accountant to join a fast paced, high performing team ahead of the IPO of our Missile Solutions business. The position will serve as a technical accounting advisor for management on complex financial transactions and reporting matters, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and producing robust documentation packages. The incumbent will partner with cross-functional teams on complex accounting transactions and enterprise-wide projects and liaise with internal and external auditors to support the company’s positions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior accounting experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior accounting experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior accounting experience.
  • CPA with active license.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in contract accounting, preferably including U.S. Government contracts.
  • Big Four experience with audits of clients that are SEC registrants and/or U.S. Government contractors.
  • Strong technical and financial acumen.
  • Previous experience within the Aerospace & Defense industry.
  • Experience with percentage of completion accounting, including estimates at completion.
  • Strong project management skills, including demonstrated ability to think end-to-end and manage multiple priorities/projects simultaneously.
  • Leveraging technology to enhance data analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review technical accounting memos and other documentation to support accounting positions.
  • Monitor accounting policies for required updates and compliance.
  • Provide guidance on accurate interpretation and effective implementation of business control processes and policies.
  • Stay abreast of changes in accounting guidance and assess impacts to accounting policies.
  • Clearly communicate accounting guidance and impacts at the appropriate level (e.g., staff and peers, various L3Harris teams including executive management, external auditors, external advisors).
  • Develop effective, collaborative relationships with segment and functional teams.
  • Liaise with external auditors to support the company’s positions.
  • Assist with financial reporting tasks as necessary.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and automation to enhance reporting efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support ad hoc analyses, special projects, and other corporate reporting initiatives as needed.
  • Ability to obtain US Security Clearance.
